Hi! I’m Marit. A film director based in Amsterdam.
I direct documentary, fiction and music videos with atmospheric visuals or informative content, depending on each unique story’s needs.
My strength is my ability to listen, to find the core of each narrative and translate it into the right creative concept.
I believe in the power of storytelling to create meaningful change and make the world a more sustainable and inclusive place. And I love helping sustainable brands, humanitarian organizations and charities to tell their stories.
I graduated with Honours as a film director from the University of the Arts Utrecht and hold a Master’s Degree in Arts & Society from the Utrecht University. Including electives from the MA Postcolonial & Gender studies and a degree from the ELTE University in Budapest.
I mainly focus on international projects and am always keen to explore new narratives and topics.

Testimonials
“Marit is an awesome director to work with. She provides confidence and can take individual ideas and bring them together into a very concise and beautiful story. I have worked with her as both an actress and a client. She makes concrete plans, takes the lead and gives clear instructions, but also listens and thinks along very well, without losing her own style.”

“When working with Marit as a director, she knows how to realise her vision for a project in a grounded and serene way. She is communicative and clear, with many creative solutions to develop a concept. For this vulnerable project, she knew how to create a safe and trusting atmosphere for me, which really brought the concept to life.”
